Above Ground Pool Closing Video

1. 🧪 Prepare water and equipment:
Close your pool as late in the season as possible (when the temperature is stable below 12°C).

Make sure the water is clean and balanced.

Collect all the leaves. You can use a skimmer connected to a garden hose if the filtration system is already turned off.

Prepare the necessary materials:

Closing kit: Wintercide and antifreeze

Winterizing plugs, sausage, blue key, styrofoam

Filter and canvas cleaning products

2. 📉 Lower the water level:
The water level should be below the skimmer and water returns, ideally 18 to 20 inches.

Clean the canvas with a canvas cleaner before installing it.

3. 🧴 Apply the wintercide:
It's time to add the winter acid from the kit.

It helps prevent the growth of algae and bacteria during the winter.

4. 🔧 Protect equipment:
Skimmer:
Remove the basket, unscrew the flap, and install a skimmer plug.

Place the protective Styrofoam in the skimmer and insert a rod into the pipes to absorb the pressure of the frost.

Water returns:
Remove the return heads and install the winterizing plugs using the blue key.

Pipes (added step):
Attach the return or drainage pipes to the pool structure using a self-locking tie.

This step prevents the hose from dragging on the ground or moving during the winter.

Filtration:
Set the valve handle to "Close" or "Winter".

Cleaning:
Clean the filter with a suitable product to remove residue.

Pump:
Unplug the pump and store it in a dry, heated place.

Also empty the filter by unscrewing the drain plug.

5. 💧 Sanitation system:
Remove the sanitation system (e.g. chlorinator, brominator, salt system).

6. 🧼 Install the winter canvas:
Install the winter cover on the pool.

Secure it securely with the straps.
